Marienplatz is situated in the heart of Munich. This central square is surrounded by historic buildings and is home to the world-famous Glockenspiel. Peterkirche (St. Peter’s Church) is directly across from the Glockenspiel and worth a look.

One can also climb the 500 or so wooden steps to the top of St. Peter’s for a bird’s eye 360 degree look at all of Munich and the Bavarian Alps in the distance that can be seen on a sunny day.
